Coach Harder

Chris Harder enters his 27th season (2023) as head coach of the Irish boys cross country program.  He also coached the girls team for  24 years.  Last season, the boys were State runner-up  for their ninth top five finish in the past 17 years.  The team also placed 5th in the Nike Heartland Regional as a club team.  He is the boys distance coach in the spring, where the Irish won the MSHSL state meet for the second time in three season.  The Irish were State runner-up in True Team after winning the previous two titles.  Harder is USATF Level II certified in the endurance (LSU 1998) and sprint/hurdle (Purdue 1999) events.  

Harder competed in cross country and track at the University of Minnesota, where he was a four-year letter winner and captain of the cross country team in 1990.  His highest finish was third place in the 3000 meter steeplechase at the Big 10 championships in 1991.  At Austin High School, Harder won the 3200 at the Minnesota Class AA championships in 1986.  He placed fifth in the state cross country meet and averaged over 10 ppg as a captain on the basketball team.

Coach Harder teaches U. S. History at Rosemount High School.  He lives in Rosemount with his wife and two sons.

Coach Hatleli

Sara Hatleli continues a new chapter in Irish girls cross country as a second year head coach (2023).  She assisted the girls and boys program for 15 seasons.  She is the head girls track coach/girls distance coach in the spring.  The Irish girls track & field team won the MSHSL State Championship in 2019, 2021, and 2022.  In 2023, the girls again reached the podium with a third place finish.    The team also won the State True Team Championship in 2019 and 2021.   Rosemount broke 13 school records the past four seasons.  She was voted State Coach of the Year by her peers last season and was a National Coach of the Year finalist.

Hatleli attended Mankato State (now Minnesota State-Mankato) as an integral part of the founding of the soccer program.  She is active in area road races during the summer and plays in competitive soccer leagues.  A Rosemount High School alum, Hatleli captained two sports and was amongst the top middle distance runners in the Lake Conference.

Coach Hatleli teaches math at Rosemount High School.  She lives in Rosemount with her husband and two daughters.

Coach Fendrich

Brian Fendrich enters his 24th season (2023) as assistant coach of the Irish cross country program.  He assists with the boys distance runners in spring and coaches the chess team in the winter.  Fendrich formerly coached Mitchell High School in South Dakota, where the Kernals were perennial state qualifiers.  One of his top students at Mitchell was Mike Miller, a former NBA veteran.

Fendrich competed successfully in cross country and track at South Dakota State University in Brookings.  After college, he ran a personal best 2:21:51 in the 1983 Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, the 7th best time ever for a South Dakota native.  At Sioux Falls Lincoln High School, Fendrich won the 1978 state championship in the two mile run and his relay still holds the state 4xmile record.

Coach Fendrich teaches math at Rosemount High School.  He resides in Apple Valley (Rosemount attendance) with his wife. Two daughters graduated from RHS and the University of Wisconsin (Madison).

Coach Lorch

Charlie Lorch enters his 19th season (2023) as volunteer coach of the Irish cross country program after he moved from California.  He is an active runner and biker in retirement.

Lorch served the United States for 23 years in the Air Force.  He completed many training runs in different countries around the world during his various deployments.  He completed Grandma's Marathon in 2:50 in 2008.  Lorch is a native of Indiana, where he was a high school standout.

Coach Lorch retired as a para-professional at Rosemount High School.  He lives in Inver Grove Heights (Rosemount attendance) with his wife as recent empty nesters. His daughter graduated from RHS and attends the University of Minnesota.  His son graduated from RHS and completed his deployment for the U. S. Army in South Korea.  He now attends Minnesota State-Mankato.   An older daughter competed in cross country and track at Georgetown University.

Coach Kresky-Griffin

Lisa Kresky-Griffin enters her second season as the Irish girls assistant coach.  

Kresky attended North Dakota State in the mid-1990's and still ranks on the Bison all-time list in the multi events.  Lisa was a 2x All-American indoors in the Long Jump (1993 and 1994) and an All-American outdoors in the Heptathlon (1994 & 1996).  Kresky is an active ultra runner with a recent 50 KM (5:50:02) at Afton and a 50 miler at Chester Woods (10:19:44).

Coach Kresky-Griffin is a Senior Network Engineer for Frontier Communications and coaches adult runners.  She lives in Farmington with her husband.
